Day 1: Arrive in Lisbon, Portugal
Welcome to Portugal! Today you arrive in Lisbon. You will check into your hotel. In the evening, you will meet your Tour Director and the other travelers for a special welcome dinner.
Day 2: Lisbon to Fátima
First, we will take a guided tour of Lisbon. You will see the Jerónimos Monastery and the famous Belém Tower. Later, we drive north to Fátima. This is a very special place where the Virgin Mary appeared to three children in 1917.
Day 3: Fátima
Today is dedicated to Fátima. You can visit the Sanctuary and the Chapel of the Apparitions. You will also see the tombs of the visionaries. In the evening, you can join the candlelight procession and say the Rosary.
Day 4: Fátima – Braga – Santiago de Compostela
We leave Portugal today. On the way, we stop in Braga to see the beautiful Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte. Then, we cross the border into Spain and arrive in Santiago de Compostela. This city is the finish line for many pilgrims walking the "Camino."
Day 5: Santiago de Compostela
This morning, a local guide will show us the old city. We will visit the famous Cathedral where St. James is buried. You can attend the Pilgrim Mass here.
Day 6: Santiago to Burgos
We travel east today across Spain. We will arrive in Burgos. This city has a stunning Gothic Cathedral. It is also the burial place of the Spanish hero, El Cid.
Day 7: Burgos – Loyola – Lourdes, France
We stop at the Sanctuary of Loyola to see where St. Ignatius was born. Then, we drive through the Pyrenees mountains and enter France. We arrive in Lourdes, one of the most famous healing shrines in the world.
Day 8: Lourdes
Today, we explore Lourdes. We will visit the Grotto where the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Bernadette. You can drink the water from the miraculous spring. At night, join the beautiful candlelight procession.
Day 9: Lourdes – Manresa – Montserrat, Spain
We return to Spain today. We stop in Manresa, a place important to St. Ignatius. Then, we drive up a tall mountain to the Montserrat Sanctuary. The views here are amazing.
Day 10: Montserrat to Barcelona
After morning Mass at the monastery, we drive to the exciting city of Barcelona. You will have free time to relax or explore.
Day 11: Barcelona
A local guide will show us the best sights in Barcelona. We will see the Sagrada Família, a giant church designed by Gaudí that is still being built. You will also see the Columbus Monument. Tonight, we have a farewell dinner.
Day 12: Depart Barcelona
Your vacation ends this morning after breakfast. Safe travels home!
